Our Team
Before founding Churchill Investments in 1996 Jamie held a Director’s position at Foreign & Colonial Asset Management and before his stint in the city gained experience in the protection space working for Phoenix Assurance. Having been as close to the coal face as one can possibly get when it comes to the construction of retail financial products. Jamie’s knowledge of the investment vehicles used at Churchill is second to none. His knowledge has been built up over a 39 year spell in the industry.
After living in London Monday to Friday for many years Jamie is now based 5 minutes from the office in Churchill with his wife Nikki. Despite being diagnosed with both Asthma and Diabetes Jamie still likes to try his hand at half marathon running and is a ‘Gold Card’ holder of the Great North Run. Originally from Minehead, at weekends Jamie can often be found on the hills of Exmoor covering great distances with his Labrador, ‘Henry’.
After graduating from The University of Birmingham with a degree in Economics, Tom started life in the industry as an Investment Analyst; keen to work more closely with private clients, Tom obtained his Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and has now achieved chartered status. On top of writing the financial planning section of a local magazine, Tom also plays a key role within the company’s research process and given his background in analysis, holds a position on our investment strategy committee.
Those who have visited the office would have met Tom’s dog Dougie, who now spends most of the day with us and takes up most of Tom’s free time with walking and running. Tom is also a keen rugby player although as the years creep by retirement is looking more and more likely.
Michael became the companies third advisor upon completion of his exams and receipt of Chartered Status in September 2020. Mike re-joined the office in 2018, having previously worked as an intern with the company in the summer of 2015 whilst studying Economics at University. Having grown up locally, Mike was delighted to return to the countryside atmosphere of North Somerset after some time gaining experience in the city. Having been through the exam and development process himself in recent years, Mike is now turning his attention to assisting other members of the team to progress with their own qualifications.
Away from the office, Mike can usually be found on a cricket pitch during the summer months, being vice – captain of both the midweek T20 side and 1st XI on Saturdays.
Emma has over fifteen years’ experience as a paraplanner within both small and larger companies across the Southwest. She enjoys using her experience and technical expertise to explain complex ideas to clients and help colleagues.
Emma holds both Chartered and Fellow status with the Personal Finance Society (PFS).
Outside of work Emma spends time with her husband and young son, going on adventures both locally and further afield. If she has any free time, Emma can be found baking gluten-free treats or sewing.
Jordan holds a 2:1 degree in Mathematics from Lancaster University and has now completed his Diploma in Financial Services. From here, he is now straight into the next set of exams on his journey towards becoming Chartered.
Rugby and football’s injuries have been left behind as Jordan has turned to squash where he competes locally. He continues to work for a charitable trust and although we have never seen it, he maintains he can complete a Rubix cube in 36 seconds.
Charlie has recently started work in Financial Services and as such is just starting to work through his Diploma in Financial Services. Although he is relatively new to the sector, he brings a passion for accuracy and efficiency which makes him an invaluable addition to the team.
Outside of work Charlie enjoys playing rugby for his local team and going for walks throughout the southwest as well as further afield.
Ian brings over 7 years of administrative expertise to our team. Ian’s dedication to excellence motivates him to work accurately and with professionalism. Ian looks to expand his knowledge in finance from other team members with a goal of taking financial planning exams.
Beyond the office, Ian finds joy in the great outdoors. As an avid gardener, he enjoys cultivating plants, nurturing them with care and precision. His green thumb extends to his passion for walking his dog, exploring nature trails.
When he’s not tending to his garden or embarking on outdoor adventures, Ian enjoys the freedom and camaraderie of caravanning. Whether it’s exploring new destinations or unwinding amidst scenic vistas, Ian embraces the spirit of adventure and community that caravanning offers.
Jayne offers a personable approach utilising the extensive knowledge acquired throughout her career having worked as an administrator within the Financial Services Sector for over 20 years before joining Churchill Investments. Not only does she focus on the fundamental elements of administrative tasks, she ensures she communicates and works with all stakeholders to ensure clients are fully supported.
Outside of work Jayne enjoys travelling and culture. She is often found reading, enhancing her knowledge of latest economic developments. Jayne ’s caring nature has led to her being the heart of the office and her family alike and now playing an active role in her grandchildren’s lives.
In joining our team Kirstie is bringing over 25 years in administration experience with the vast majority in the financial services sector. Kirstie achieved a 2:1in her Humanities degree at Northampton University studying English & History.
Outside of work Kirstie enjoys meeting up monthly with her local book club where they share their thoughts on a group selected book of the month. This provides her much needed respite from her two kids and golf loving husband.
Trevor has a broad knowledge of Financial Services having joined the industry back in 1997. He has held several positions in the industry throughout his career, including working as a Business Development Manager for various Life and Investment companies. In more recent years, Trevor ran his own business, working as a Mortgage & Equity Release Adviser.
Away from the office, Trevor loves the great outdoors and enjoys keeping fit by trail running in the local countryside, walking on the Mendip hills and cycling. He also enjoys travelling and experiencing new places both in the UK and abroad.
